It provides extensive computing resources for research and education. This includes more than 150 high-performance computers on Windows & Linux workstations. In addition to general purpose file server, the department maintains two specialized servers. Department network communications include 20 Mbps connectivity to the internet for all the Laboratories.



Computer programming is an art of writing programs to perform a meaningful task. Programming a computer can be performed in one of numerous languages, ranging from a higher-level language to writing directly in low-level machine code. This is the basic laboratory where the students learn various programming languages like C, C++ and Java.

UNIX Lab/Free Open Source Software (FOSS)

Unix is an operating system that provides interface between the hardware of a computer system and the applications programs. The objective of this lab is to give a practical orientation of programming in Linux environment using system calls and advanced concepts in Unix programming.


A Database Management System (DBMS) is a set of computer programs that controls the creation, maintenance, and the use of a database. The objective of this lab is educating students with fundamental concepts of Data Base Design, Data Models, Different Data Base Languages (SQL/Oracle).


The Software Engineering lab will facilitate the students to develop a preliminary yet practical understanding of software development processes and tools.
